Seminars

In addition to structured classes, New Horizons in conjunction with Microsoft and Entré Computer Services is holding free informational seminars on Information Technology careers.  In an alliance with Microsoft Corporation’s Skills 2000 program, New Horizons Computer Learning Center is offering this seminar to help fill the estimated 200,000 to 300,000 job void now plaguing the information technology (IT) industry.  "Our intention with these seminars is to educate the general public about the growing demand of information technology jobs available and assist them in entering the industry by providing a succinct and affordable training program, even if they have no prior computer experience," said Richard Wade, General Manager, New Horizons Computer Learning Center, Inc.

Microsoft Corporation’s Skills 2000 program includes an IT career loan which provides individuals with a flexible, low-cost way to begin a new career in the IT field or to enhance their current IT skills.  The loan program enables them to make small, affordable, monthly payments over time, rather than pay in one lump sum. "Its basic economics" said Mr. Wade, "with the huge shortage of skilled IT professionals, wages are going higher than we have ever seen them and with the release of this (Skills 2000) loan program, Microsoft has made it easier than ever before for individuals to enter this high-paying industry."
